The Ealing Healthy Weight Team deliver ALFIE (Active Living fun Food In Ealing); a healthy lifestyles programme for children aged between 5 and 13 years who have been identified as being above a healthy weight (overweight) for their age.

The programme is a multi-component (nutrition, physical activity and behaviour change support ) weight management programme which focuses on motivating children and the whole family to explore healthier lifestyle choices together and showing them how even making small changes can make a big difference. Sessions are based around fun and interactive workshops on healthy eating and nutrition, covering topics such as food groups, portion sizes and label reading. Children and families also take part in physical activities such as multi-skilled sports, Junior Gym and HIIT classes; these sessions help improve fitness and build confidence in a safe / structured environment.

Programmes take place across the borough and are open to children aged 5 – 13 years who are above the 91st centile (if you are unsure you can use the BMI healthy weight calculator at: www.nhs.uk/bmi); live, have a GP or go to school in Ealing.

All programmes are free of charge to families; but all children must be accompanied by an adult.
