If you are worried that a child or young person might need help or is being neglected or hurt, it is important that you share your worries. Here you can find information about keeping children and young people safe and how to get help if you are worried about a child or young person’s safety.

All health professionals work to keep children and young people safe from harm. If you need any help to keep your child or young person safe please speak to your health visitor, school nurse, GP or any other health professional who works with your child and young person.

However old your child is they need your help to stay safe. Every child is different and as their parents and carers you’ll need to tailor advice to meet their individual needs. This is true for all children and families but if your child has additional needs this can be a bit more complicated.The general advice out there for parents can be tailored to fit your child’s skills and abilities but if you need a bit more support you can ask your child’s occupational or physiotherapist.
